DAY TWO, BLOG TWO


Hello from Guilin again!


Won't say much as I am really beat. A lot of pounding the pavement in town looking for a bank to swap money and find some turp not much success with either one went out to a great old village outside of town with a guide and a driver, really tough communicating even with that. The countryside is beautiful with all of the rice paddies and other farmming. Great little streams flowing here and there with wonderful old bridges and walls. Got to visit with some families in their homes, a real kind and generous bunch of people. got some great pordelain chinese figurines, had a great time bargaining for them. ended up having to pull my proposal act, but it seemed to at least have charmed the sales girls and got a great deal...at least I think that I did! Heading for some terraced rice paddies and the mountains to see some of the "ethnic minorities" tomorrow. Will send more later. Monique is doing well and having a great time, would be lost without her! Ned
